Photography
I got interested in photography during my undergraduate and turned it towards my favorite entities - animals and landscapes.
My first camera (and my camera for the longest time) was a Nikon D3300. I still own it, but have upgraded my primary camera to be a Sony Alpha 7 MIII.
I love going on hikes in jungles, deserts and canyons, trying to understand and capture the beauty and dynamics of nature. My philosophy is to capture animals in their calm, unhindered poses. I am also interested art and culture photography. I was one of the two primary photographers of the book "Arting Science", edited by Bitasta Das, which covers science communicated through tribal art and gave me a novel perspective on art and its meaning. Additionally, I covered cultural events for Quarks (IISc Press), the IISc undergraduate magazine, from 2013-17.
If you wish to use any of my photographs on your website/publication/blog, or want to buy fine prints of my pictures, please contact me and I can provide you with a high resolution version of the same. Below is a selection of my favorites from last few years, arranged in themes.
This section contains a collection of my favorite snaps of flora and fauna, taken (mostly) in the their natural environment.
All other photos which do not fit into the box of the other two sections, fall into this one.
I would kindly request any visitor to kindly provide me credits for any photograph they use from my collection.
